AUTHORED &amp; PASSED THE BPA FREE KIDS ACT

As Vice Chair of the Committee on Health and Healthcare Reform, Kelda ensured 80,000 previously uninsured Wisconsinites received health care coverage. Kelda worked across the aisle to modernize nursing regulations and expand healthcare access for rural and urban communities alike.

EXPANDED HEALTHCARE COVERAGE

Kelda passed AB940, providing funding to crisis centers, and domestic violence survivor services in Wisconsin-- protecting victims and their families.

FUNDING FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS

As Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin for four years, Kelda helped Wisconsin pass its first pro-choice law in three decades: the Compassionate Care for Rape Victims Act.

COMPASSIONATE CARE FOR RAPE VICTIMS ACT

While still in law school, Kelda helped pass Act 60, which prevented wrongful convictions in Wisconsin. In the legislature, Kelda passed SB 120, restricting police departments from extreme forms of use of force, and prohibiting certain procedures from occurring, with penalties for those who violate-- and passed SB 122, ensuring transparency in use of force policies.

PASSED LANDMARK CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM

Kelda passed SB 523, addressing unfair labor practices in violation of collective bargaining rights. Protecting workers, defending unions, and supporting Wisconsin workers.

PROTECTED LABOR UNIONS &amp; WORKERS

Kelda passed AB 57, permitting Wisconsin mothers to breastfeed in public, and encouraging the implementation of increased access to private spaces for nursing mothers.

As a mom and small business owner, Kelda understands how challenging it can be to pay for health care.KeldaCare will enable every Wisconsinite to buy into the very same health insurance plan that Kelda enjoys as a state senator, and give people the freedom to build a better life. Kelda's plan opens up the high quality, competitively priced, nonprofit state employee health insurance plan to allow any person or entity to buy in, at cost. Small businesses, unions, municipalities, and even large companies will benefit by being able to join the state employee pool, enjoying excellent, lower cost insurance than the expensive, private, for-profit health insurance options currently available. With KeldaCare, small and medium sized businesses that make our communities vibrant will be able to start, grow, and compete. Plus, by covering more people and expanding the pool, we will be able to reduce uncompensated care, lower premium costs for everyone including taxpayers, and keep rural clinics and hospitals open. For over 20 years, Kelda has fought for and passed laws to expand affordable healthcare for Wisconsinites. She's the only candidate in this race who's actually delivered on expanding access to affordable healthcare.

<h2>How?</h2><ol><li>If you have not already, email <a href="mailto:forward@keldaroys.com">forward@keldaroys.com </a>to get connected with high-traffic canvassing locations, best practices, and signature goals.</li><li>Download and print the nomination papers found <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1V9utXvwgWefLS_CBBVLDY3GTpImPOELn/view?usp=drive_link" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">here.</a></li><li>At the bottom of the paper, fill in your name and residential address. Do not fill in anything else yet.</li><li>Ask up to 10 friends per sheet to sign for Kelda. Each signer must be at least 18 years old, a Wisconsin resident, and complete every field in their row. The nomination paper may not be left unattended on counters or posted on bulletin boards. Signers may only sign for one candidate in the governor's race.</li><li>After the page is complete, sign and date it. Do not fill in the “Page No.” field.</li><li>Mail the nomination papers to P.O. Box 231, Madison, WI 53701 by May 15. Photos do not count. All nomination papers must be physically mailed by May 15.</li></ol>
